About me

Hey there!

I’m Donna Gordge – an artist and educator working in Adelaide, South Australia.

I run workshops from my own little studio and other sites around Adelaide, and enjoy very much sharing the knowledge I have gained through my many different creative experiences. I’ve taught adults and children in all kinds of settings – TAFE, primary and secondary school, outreach and community arts programs.

My own art takes a range of forms including artist books, sculpture, collage and stitch. The themes at the very heart of my practice are memory and place. I’m a storyteller – much of my art is built around narrative snippets, recalled experiences and (I admit it, sometimes blurred!!) recollections. I often incorporate artefacts, animals and found objects which have deep personal meaning.

I am one of three founding members of the Duck n Weave Artist Collective – we inspire and learn from each other, go on art excursions, exhibit together twice a year, and run our Creative Exchange mentorship program.

And a bit more…
